Environmental Policy

Exchem Defence Systems Ltd operates an environmental system to minimise the impact of the activities covered in the scope above and to include our conservation activities in order to preserve the wildlife, with which we share the island.

It is our policy to:

Continually improve environmental performance minimising any pollution particularly noise and smoke.

Conserve resources by reducing waste and minimising consumption of materials and energy. When waste is unavoidable, we are committed to reuse, then re-cycling and finally responsible disposal to minimise undesirable environmental effects.

Regularly assess the risks to the environment as part of our environmental management system.

Ensure that the business complies with all the relevant environmental protection legislation unless specifically exempt, and where appropriate, any of our customers’ specific requirements.

Undertake conservation activities to preserve the wildlife on our site.

Actively encourage employees to make suggestions on ways of improving environmental protection, conservation and pollution control.

Review and update this policy in line with any significant change in legislation, planned new developments or business activities.

Objectives to improve environmental issues are set at regular management review meetings. Action plans are formulated and progress towards achievement is regularly monitored.
